Guess they didn't last long, but at least I can claim I was out having some fun and too tired to write when I got home! Thursday night I actually went to a local karaoke bar, for the first time in a LONG time. Before that, I had drinks with a friend, so it was just a nice evening all in. I even sang a couple of songs--the local arts group was raising money so I knew a bunch of folks who were there. I felt pretty good, more like my old self...but still the small town thing is hard.

Last night I went to a movie group in Jeff City, about 20 miles away. I hadn't been before, but I really enjoyed the people, even though the movie wasn't one of my favorites--CABARET--but it was fun to see it with other folks and then discuss. It felt really good to be out making some new friends--like minded friends as well. I'll definitely be doing that again!

Today I went with another friend to see the BENJAMIN BUTTON movie, which I also liked a lot. The woman who co-wrote it was someone I'd met in LA, so that was neat too. It's all about learning to let go of things (appropriate) and also how everything happens at the right time, and we just have to learn to accept each moment for what it brings. Very good messages for me at this  point in my life...

Tonight it's cold and I'm just staying in, might watch another movie, I'm tired...not the 'party-er' I once was...nor do I want to be. So, that's about it for me, I guess, tomorrow night is Golden Globes so not sure if I'll make it back to writing or not...
