My goodness but it's been a busy few days, and it's not over yet! My writer's retreat came together with 4 attendees and will be held here tomorrow, provided the snow doesn't keep people away. Luckily most of them are local, and I don't think it will be too bad. But I've had to pull everything together rather quickly--the lunch, my notes, etc, etc. Thank goodness the president of the Columbia Writers Guild is helping with it, so it won't all fall on me. I hope it turns out well, as I'd love to do more of these!
I also have guests this weekend, a dad and his daughter who is going to Westminster. Turns out he's a rather well-known artist in the realm of copper sculpture, although he says he mostly paints now. He lives in a dome house down in the Ozarks, and is a really fascinating person. Very interested in meditation and 'consciousness...' -- things on my radar at the moment. But based on our conversation, I think he and my other artist friend who have more in common than one might think. The idea that 'art' arises from 'spirit' and 'passion....' Anyway, fascinating to see who will walk in my front door.
Sunday I'm having a little potluck here, which will also be nice, but I certainly didn't plan such a busy weekend...for me, it tends to be a lot, hermit that I am. But I am looking forward to doing something different, and having the house alive with people. For now though I'd better get some shut eye...
