- Mood:
I'm not really an Okey, but I definitely have roots here. My great- and great-great- grandparents on both sides lived here. One set were farmers, the others in trade. No one lived in this area though, and during the drive today I was really surprised at how lovely Eastern OK is. I drove along a beautiful lake for most of the afternoon.
At any rate, I decided to start back today, rather than spend any more time in Dallas/FW. I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer, there were really places I wanted to see, but my mood was all wrong for it. Jim called and he's been sick, and we have lots to do this weekend, so I decided I'd better head back early. Unfortunately, I had to miss the book signing, which is probably happening right now with the others in the writing group. I hope it's going well for them--I dropped the books off at the coffee house, with a couple of my news ones, A Texas Bounty. I called a couple of people who I thought might show up to let them know I wouldn't be there. Hope no one else does, but if they do, they didn't tell me... Overall, it hind sight, maybe it was a bad idea--but I'm glad the others are doing it, and wish I could have been there.
At the moment, I'm figuring I'll be home by Thursday. Not that much earlier, but at least a little. Till then, back to the road tomorrow...
