It's about time, too, isn't it? Well, it was a long week with in-laws here and trying to stay on track with other work, then it was a long weekend with guests and an all day writing conference during which I was a speaker. My session was on "The Pitch" and it was pretty well attended, though it didn't help me sell any books. Sometimes I just don't understand WHY my books don't sell--they're nicely designed AND well-written, but it always seems to be that other writers don't buy books in support any more. Maybe that's not always the case, but I've found it to be so...I try to buy books I like from friends when I see them, so maybe people just don't 'like' my topics. Alas... I'm going to have a book signing for A Texas Bounty on Nov. 27th in Arlington, Texas, with my old writing group. We'll also sell our anthology--at least it will be fun doing it with other people, instead of all alone!
In the meantime, I'm trying to get some work projects caught up so I can be away for 2 weeks. Of all things, I even got a jury summons for one of the weeks I'd planned to be away. But it sounds like they'll reschedule so that's good. So much to do, so little time!
Another thing I need to get back to is my jewelry. I sold a bunch here this weekend, and also took some to Jeff City for the antique mall. I'm hoping it will do well there... Maybe with the holiday approaching, it will. Anyway, I need to get more made--have all the stuff, just hard to find the time!! And that's pretty much it for the moment... I'm off to St. Louis tomorrow for an auction, so another couple of days I'll be out of pocket...
