Once again I've gotten off track with the blog and with writing. I can't say it's my fault exactly, because I did have the in-law visit to contend with, and then I went to auction this week. Still, that shouldn't really be an excuse. Part of the problem is that I'm leaving town on Nov. 19th for 2 weeks, which will REALLY put things off track! Anyway, I'm trying to get caught up on my 'work' so I can still have time to get the writing done... Not always easy...

Next week is going to be crazy too, as HGTV is coming on Wed. Should be fun, and interesting, etc. etc. Can't wait to see how they're going to 'spin' the story on our house for IF WALLS COULD TALK... I'm sure it'll be interesting...there's plenty of fascinating history here, that's for sure!

I didn't do too well at auction this month. I let some stuff get away that I really should have bought. Seems like I just couldn't get my paddle up in time... I got a few neat things: three minks stoles for $20, 5 pieces of beautiful cut glass for $10, other odds and ends for not much...but none of the jewelry I wanted and some other stuff that I really should have bid on. I'm just still in the 'learning' phase and it's tough...

Otherwise, I stayed at a neat place and had Vietnamese for dinner, something I don't get much anymore and it was great! Enjoyed the drive home--the fall colors were amazing and the sun setting over the river was just incredible. So all in all, a nice little getaway.
