Holiday Errands

  • Fictions: Places That Scare Us by Pema Chodron
I spent the better part of the day wrapping presents and running errands to buy presents and get them mailed! It wasn't too bad though--I hit the store and postoffice just right and didn't have to do much waiting in line, which is excellent at this time of year! Also mailed off a couple of Ebay items that were bid on, but I guess I'll have to list things again after the holidays because most of my stuff didn't sell...my booth isn't doing very well this month either, so I guess it's just a 'down' time...

Got excellent news from my mother today--I didn't get to write but she had surgery last Friday, and today her pathology report shows that all the surrounding areas are clear! Her followup treatment will be minor, and she's already up taking her walks again. She has a been a real inspiration to me in all this! She's seen it through with strength and humor--just goes to show what a little faith can do for you!!

Otherwise I'm just hanging in there, trying to get through this season intact...I have a lot to be thankful for on the one hand, but a lot of uncertainty ahead on the other. I'm reading a Buddist book called Places That Scare You and it's really helpful...all about learning to live in the moment, and accept whatever comes. I need that in my life right now.

On another note, our Celia event is Friday and Narissa Bond's concert is on Saturday, so I'm hoping we'll have a good turnout for that. She's staying with us and coming in tonight, so I'm doing a bit to get ready. And that pretty much sums up my day...
